Majority of workers here have thru or section hiked the AT so they are the top gear specialists. Neels Gap is supposedly the only part of the trail that passes through a manmade structure. They ship 10,000 lbs of unwanted gear and food from hikers looking to lighten their packs. We shipped back extra food and traded out our camp shoes from chacos to crocs. We did our part to add to the 10,000 lbs shipped out.
