5/3 Day 47

Our first climb of the day was 2,200 feet to Floyd Mountain. We would then climb another 1,000 feet to Apple Orchard Mountain. Our last big climb was a 700 foot climb over Highcock Knob. Today was our warmest day so far reaching over 90 degrees. We tented to avoid the bugs (bit up by fleas in the shelter the night before) and took a swim before dinner. We hiked 22.6 miles for the day and stayed near Matt’s Creek Shelter.
