Shenandoah National Park

The camping regulations are more flexible than in Smoky Mountain National Park. They allow hikers to camp in established sites near shelters or preexisting camping spots off the trail. The park is much more focused on eliminating camp fires in the park that aren’t in established fire rings. Shenandoah also provides two different types of shelters, “huts” for overnight-use and “shelters” for day-use only.
