5/22 Day 66

We woke up to light rain today but it stopped shortly after we began hiking. The worst part of the morning was putting on soaking socks and boots. We climbed to Center Point Knob, the original half way mark for the AT. We went into Boiling Springs for lunch and to visit the Mid-Atlantic ATC building. After leaving Boiling Springs, we hiked through our flattest terrain thus far. We hiked for over 12 miles through cow pastures, crops and fields. Joe’s wet shoes became so bothersome that he opted to hike these miles in his crocs. We stayed at Darlington Shelter for the night. We hiked 26.3 miles total.
