We had light rain consistently all morning but it didn’t begin until we packed up all of our gear. We hiked around Canopus Lake in Clarence Fahnestock State Park and met a group of trail maintainers out for the weekend. We hiked up Shenandoah Mountain and saw a painted 9-11 memorial flag on the summit. We had lunch at RPH shelter, a three sided shelter with door, windows, bunks, porch and address for pizza delivery. Mt. Egbert was our high point for the day at just over 1,300 feet. We stayed at Morgan Stewart shelter for the night. We hiked 19.3 miles for the day.
