6/25 Day 100

We decided to eat breakfast at the inn and after ordering our blueberry pancakes and french toast, a guest of the hotel offered to buy our breakfast. He ended up paying for five hikers breakfasts! Our rainy day began with a hike through the campground at Gifford Woods State Park. We hiked past Kent Pond, near
Thundering Falls and over Quimby Mountain. The mosquitoes were horrible today, swarming us even when drenched in bug spray. We had a break from the rain at Stony Brook Shelter where we ate lunch but it started back up as soon as we began hiking again. It poured all afternoon and we were hailed on at 2,800 feet. We stayed at Winturri Shelter and hiked 16.6 miles for the day.
