7/14 Day 119

Spaulding Mountain was our first climb out of the shelter today. After the summit we passed a bronze plaque that signifies the last section of the AT. We climbed near the summit of Sugarloaf Mountain, over South and North Crocker Mountains and struggled to make sure we had enough water to drink. Today turned out to be just as humid and even more hot than the day before. We hitched into Stratton for resupply and lunch at The White Wolf. After our long break we headed back to the trail, cooled off in Cranberry Stream and climbed 2,100 ft to Horns Pond Shelter. Just before the shelter we hit our 2,000 mile mark! The group of hikers who stayed at Horns Pond celebrated our big landmark. We hiked 18.6 miles.
