Hike to Cure Cancer

Our 2,180 mile hike will last approximately the length of time my mom, Kim McGonagle, fought through the direct effects of chemotherapy to treat ovarian cancer. Our challenges will end at the summit of Mt. Katahdin but my mom’s journey will continue for years for come. Thanks to preventative medicine, cutting edge treatments and caring doctors, nurses and loved ones, my mom will be able to hike alongside us to the start of the AT and will be waiting when we return.

We are dedicating our Appalachian Trail thru-hike to finding a cure for cancer in the hopes that our journey can help raise money to save lives like my mom’s. Our goal is to raise $2 for every mile we hike so please help support us by donating generously to help us save lives!

I am going to collect my change each day of the journey and at the end of your journey I will donate what I have collected each day that you have been gone. Good Luck. I know you can do it.

Kathleen, you are one determined girl. Best of luck on a great journey. I’m pledging $.10 per mile for this awesome experience and a good cause. Take care.
